Vista Vs. 7

Posted on 02. Jan, 2010 by admin in Computers

Honestly, could it be any worse than Vista was or whatever name they decided to call it in the end. No matter how they changed the name the concept just didn’t work well. Maybe it did in theory but the actualization of it lost a little something. And with scarcely a month under its belt, what are users saying about this latest product in the Microsoft lineup? Well, some of the bugs are still being squashed but being that it is coming on the heels of Windows Vista; it has got to look pretty darn good to those who are trading in that for Windows 7.

Before the official launch of Windows 7, Microsoft did a test with a sample set of users to make sure they were not going to receive the same negative backlash they received with Vista. The users were comprised of individuals who used Windows for personal use only (61% of the testers), individuals who used Windows both personally and professionally (25 % of the testers) and individuals who used Windows strictly professionally (14% of the testers). The individuals who were tested also represented users who were installing Windows 7 on a PC that already had Vista, and users where Windows 7 was the only operating system ever installed on that PC.

The testing went very well, with very few issues reported, and little difficulty with the installation of the Windows 7 operating system. The issues that were encountered were issues that could arise from the installation of any operating system, such as existing software on the PC that is incompatible with Windows 7, or drivers for certain hardware devices that were incompatible with Windows 7. In these case a patch from the manufacturer of the software or hardware device and probably eliminate the issues altogether. There was a small number of users that ended up having their computers crash during the installation process, but this is also inevitable when installing an operating system, and should not dissuade anyone from upgrading to Windows 7 if they want to.

After the installation portion of the testing, the users then began to use the Windows 7 operating system, and were able to see the vast improvements that Microsoft made when compared to Windows Vista. The test results were overwhelmingly supportive of Windows 7. When the test scores were compiled, only 5% of the testers said they were unsatisfied with Windows 7, compared to almost half of the testers for Vista who were unsatisfied. Clearly Windows 7 is a significant improvement to Vista.

Windows 7 is a great operating system, and if you are currently using Windows Vista you will probably want to upgrade to 7 as soon as possible. Windows 7 of course has some bugs, which is to be expected, but Microsoft is pushing updated out as soon as they are available. There is no question that Windows 7 is a far superior operating system to Windows Vista, and it is probably the best system that Microsoft has ever released.

Web Design Leads To A Successful Online Business

Posted on 24. Dec, 2009 by Adriana Noton in Computers, Internet, Online Business

You want the correct images in the correct place on your website home page. Successful web design is easy but you must create a memorable website image so visitors will keep coming back. You might want to visit your favorite websites that sells products and get some ideas to use for your site. But follow these basic steps for now. You will be able to add to your site later.

Place three to five images on your index or home page. Do this also for your core sub web pages. Assume that all people online just brought their computer home from the store. They therefore have 800 by 600 screen resolution and have a 56k modem.

Many if not most people use high speed internet but assume for now they all have slow dial up to get online. Once you are set up you will be able to read your stats tool and find out what speed internet connection your visitors are using. You can adjust accordingly.

For now begin with three to five images on your home page of your website. A logo, an emotional image, and a product image will make up the images on your home page. The first and biggest image will be your logo. It will be the first image your website visitor will see. It will be for you, the most valuable image for an effective logo image will help your site stand out in your visitors mind.

Imagine how you shop online. Most visitors shop for products on many websites before they buy. A clean and professional logo will be memorable and people will want to make their way back to your site when they are ready to buy. Also, include up near your logo your telephone number, hours of operation, and information on how people can make a purchase; credit or debit card, or by pay pal for instance.

Before they buy people go back to a website five to seven times. You want to have a memorable logo and not simply your domain name written out at the top of your website. Think about memorable logos. When you see them you automatically think about the products the logo represents.

The emotional image should tell the benefits of your product in a photo. If you are selling iced tea, have images of people drinking your iced tea on a hot day. They are being refreshed by your tea. Your visitor will want the same feeling. Take a look at some sites to see if they have emotional images. Compare the sites with and without them. You will see how effective emotional images can be.

Place three to five product images. This way people with slow internet connections will not get impatient and leave your site because they had to wait a long time for your site to download. You can add more later when your stats show that most visitors have high speed connections. Many people create a website without a plan but not you. You will follow these web design tips and you will be on your way to success.

Three Seo Tips To Make A Difference

Posted on 23. Dec, 2009 by Kam in Internet, Internet Marketing, Internet Technology, Social Networking

Sometimes it is just the tiniest of things that can make a Massive difference with SEO ranking results.

Here are three small things that will make a Larger difference if you employ them all the time.

1. If you are going fishing make sure there are fish and not too many fishing people.

2. Title is everything.

3. Being bold makes you stand out.

If you are going fishing make sure there are fish and not too many fishing people.

If we were going fishing as a professional, we would do one thing before we throw our nets into the water, we

Web Design Company can help

Web Design Company can help

would KNOW that there are fish there to be caught! A professional fisher person does not throw their nets into the water BEFORE doing a radar scan to check for fish. If you are smart at SEO you will do the same! You will also not go fishing where everyone else is fishing, this is common sense.

When it comes to a more abstract world like SEO occasionally we forget common sense. So let’s remember!

In the SEO world making sure there are fish is making sure that there is traffic for a word we are choosing to rank for. Use tools like Google Traffic Estimator (just Google it) if you are short on funds, and if you have a little bit of money, go get yourself a WordTracker subscription (they also have a free tool as well which is good). These (and many other traffic tools) will tell you that there are ‘fish’ for the keywords that you want to rank for.

The next part of this BIG trick is not to fish were everyone else is fishing. So if you are smart if you are doing a blog for example, you will look for keywords that have good traffic but a LOW number of competing websites. WordTracker will help you with this.

Page title is everything.

Modern Media Maniacs.com can help

In the SEO universe the page title is the ‘secret weapon’ of the top ranker! Here is one thing to remember, make sure that the page title is as close as possible to being 100% the keyword you want to rank for as possible. The page title is like the title of a book. If you wanted to learn about the sex life of a worm then a book title of ‘Sex life of a worm’ will grab your attention and you will know you have the book you want. On the other hand a title of ‘Worms and interesting facts’ will not grab you in the same way. The trick is to make your page titles 100% of the keyword you want to rank for. If you add ‘clutter’ words then you are diluting the most important SEO element – like diluting a single malt whiskey with water or ice.

Being bold makes you stand out.

This is a very good onsite optimization tip if you want to optimize a page/blog entry for a particular keyword, make sure you embolden the keyword in the text 2 or 3 times. Do not overdo it of course!
